ABOUT THE ARTIST

A LOVE OF COUNTRY ROADS

American artist Carol Wallace has a passion for painting and drawing the subjects she finds as she travels the country roads of America.

Carol was born and raised in Bucks County. Pennsylvania, a region known for its idyllic rural countryside and history. Her home, as a child and young adult, was in a hamlet of seven houses and a country store. Her memories of working farms with their stone houses and barns, covered bridges, historic taverns, antique shops, quaint villages, and winding country roads left an indelible impression and inspired her career as an artist.

“From the time I was a child, I was captivated by my rural surroundings.” Carol comments. “I loved taking day trips with my family on the back roads, exploring the area along the Delaware River Canal and passing by the places and talking to the people that remain in my memory today—I found it to be a grand adventure. I’d go to farms, Victorian train stations, and ramshackle buildings as a child and painted plein aire. It was the beginning of a lifetime of creating art in various mediums and subject matter that would enable viewers and collectors to step back in time and bring back their own memories.
